TO US IT SAYS “GASOLINE” BUT FOR 1.1 BILLION PEOPLE ON THE PLANET, THIS REPRESENTS WATER. IT WEIGHS 40 POUNDS WHEN FULL, AND PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD WALK UP TO 3 HOURS EACH DAY CARRYING IT. THE WATER THEY BRING HOME TO THEIR FAMILIES OFTEN MAKES THEM SICK.
CHARITY: WATER BELIEVES WATER IS A BASIC HUMAN RIGHT, AND THEIR ARE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THAT. CHARITY: WATER IS A NON-PROFIT WORKING TO BRING CLEAN, SAFE DRINKING WATER TO PEOPLE IN DEVELOPING NATIONS.

Every runway has to have a show opening that makes the crowd say wow. It’s a call out: all eyes to the stage. The models promise to the do the rest (with the help from the DJ). The opening says, ‘attention here, turn your head.’
It’s a topic of discussion for weeks. The first year 3 runway models threw back shadowed silhouettes. Last year, Ashley Mannix performed an acoustic version of Jeff Buckley’s ‘Hallelujah’ from a spotlit corner balcony while footage of the world’s cleanest oceans rolled on.
This year….
Allison, Marketing Manager came into the Billabong office with the answer…after last year’s wow the stakes are set high–but she’s found her inspiration and answer. We can’t wait.

Billabong’s 3rd Annual Design For Humanity event is happening June 17th at the Avalon/ Bardot club in Hollywood. It’s one-night beginning with an art show, followed by a Billabong fashion show, then performing live in concert alt-rockers The Airborne Toxic Event with indie pop stars Iglu & Hartly to open.
This event sells out weeks in advance every year. For the first time you can buy tickets at your local shop. ZJ Boarding House is located on the corner of Ocean Park and Main Street in Santa Monica and will be selling tickets at the shop starting May 27th.
